Lamb chops, steamed buns, beef empanadas, beer and more. My Disney World is not the same as yours, or as that of your kids!
As a child I was never a believer in the idea of visiting Disney World. I remember my friends and family telling tales about the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and all the attractions that Mr. Walt Disney has either created or motivated. But yet again (I believe), I was not a normal kid. I wanted to go fishing, see documentaries, understand science, and cook my lunch for school. Yes, I wanted to learn how to cook... and I did!
Recently I decided to take my culinary adventure to another level. I went to Disneyworld. "Yay, at last. You'll love it", people said. And I did!
But it wasn't until I visited this past (2014) Epcot International Food and Wine Fest that I understood the real magic of Disney. And I'm not talking about the famous and most notorious turkey leg.
The moment I stepped in... my senses transported into a multiverse of aromas, of flavors, of memories, of possibilities. Of course, this blog is not about Disney, or my trip to Epcot. Nor about theme park food.
As a cook I can say that there is nothing like a good meal, a good home cooked meal, and to be honest, everything you eat in a restaurant, high or low-end, started (in essence) in someone's home. Mostly from poor people's homes. And even if the decadent dessert that you ate in that high-end restaurant was created by its chef, you shall not worry, for there is always a way (to make it).
In this blog I will uncover the flavors of the world. From La Patagonia to Paris, and all the other tasty food that I tried at Disney, to the flavors of the world, new and old.
I want to share with you my knowledge and passion for food. My hunger for more and my flavorful adventures. It's food o'clock!
